This project comprised the extensive refurbishment and reconfiguration of an existing 1980’s Church building, with the creation of a new entrance foyer. Our works included asbestos removal, complete strip out works, new roof coverings, complete M&E replacement throughout, formation of new rooms and offices, with new windows and openings to the face of the building and roof.
The Church is located on one corner of a busy main road with roundabout with our site entrance located in a residential street. We implemented a strict traffic management plan for these works to ensure the safety of the public as well as providing regular newsletter updates to the residents. Our works were a short walk from Andover College so we gave two chaperoned tours to their carpentry and brickwork students which resulted in an eager carpentry student taking a work experience placement on the project. Our Site Manager provided him with tools and the student was able to shadow our senior carpenter to gain knowledge and experience.
We had a close and collaborative working relationship with the Client and to help support the good work they do in the community, we provided food hamper donations at Christmas which were distributed to less fortunate families in the town.
